This is placeholder wording for the pilot. It describes how the service handles your data today and will be replaced by the operator's reviewed policy before any public launch.

Who we are

Refund My Flight is a service that helps travellers request refunds of unused air taxes and passenger charges on flights they booked but did not take. Contact: privacy@flightrefunds.example.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, a display name, and how you signed in (email and password, or Google).
• Forwarded booking emails: the full content of any airline booking email you forward to our intake address, including attachments such as e-tickets.
• Claim details: what you tell us about the flight (for example cancelled or missed), any note you add, and the consent you give us to act on your behalf.
• Technical data: server logs needed to run and secure the service. Logs never contain the content of your emails.

How we use it

• To recognise a genuine airline booking in a forwarded email and extract the details needed for a refund request.
• To prepare and file the refund request with the airline on your behalf, carried out by our operators.
• To show you the status of each claim on your dashboard and email you when it changes.

Automated processing

The text of a forwarded booking email is sent to a third-party language-model provider to classify it and extract booking details. Attachments are not sent to that provider. No decision that affects you is made solely by automated means: an operator reviews every claim before it is filed.

Where your data is stored

Your account, emails, attachments and claims are stored with Supabase in the European Union. The application runs on Vercel. We do not sell your data and do not share it with anyone other than the providers needed to run the service and the airline you are claiming from.

How long we keep it

For the pilot, data is kept while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account and everything linked to it by emailing the contact address above.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent for a claim we have not yet filed. Write to the contact address above.

We will update this page when the policy changes and show the date at the top.
